“The service and expertise of Cakes by Shelly from our initial first meeting to discuss ideas and test samples to the actual cake being made and delivered to the venue was excellent. We really felt like she wanted to make sure the cake was exactly what we wanted and fitted into our theme. I produced a lace design to be used on the cake as a border in piped icing and I could not believe the level of detail and closeness to the design that was produced. The actual cake was delicious both sponge and fruit cake and I had lots of people comment at our wedding on not only how beautiful it was but how wonderful it tasted!”

“The cake was sublime, we had asked specifically for it to be 'moist' as I cannot abode dry cakes and it really was perfect. It looked amazing as well and Shelly really understood what I wanted, we had asked for an un-iced Victoria sponge and I was worried it might look a bit plain, but Shelly suggested dusting it with icing sugar and putting fresh flowers around the tiers to keep it looking gorgeous and it really really did! The fresh cream and the home-made strawberry jam really helped as well!”
“We ordered a 4 tier cake in order to have some height but we didn't need 4 actually cake layers so Shelly made the bottom tier a fake layer. We then had 3 different flavoured tiers. The 2 tiers we cut were utterly delicious and all the guest commented on how lovely the cake was. The whole cake was eaten (bar the top layer which we saved). On choosing our design, Shelly had a comprehensive portfolio and was happy to mix and match some of her previous designs to come up with something new and unique for my wedding. Shelly answered all our questions and able to provide advice to make the cake better. She also offered actual cake tastings so we were able to have an idea of what the quests would be eating.”

From the first contact at the wedding fayre, through the consultation and the tasting to the delivery of the cake on the morning of the wedding she couldn't be faulted! We were able to choose 3 different flavours (all delicious) for the tiers and Shelly was able to accommodate our exact requests for the overall design too. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her and the cake was very reasonably priced too. Guests were all commenting on the lovely flavours of the cake all evening & I have already recommended Shelly to another couple I know who are currently planning their wedding.”
“Brilliant!” “Having had Michelle’s cakes previously, I returned for my son’s birthday cake this year. This year she totally out did any previous cake she has made for us. Her only specifics was dinosaur related for a dinosaur mad 9 year old. I gave her free rein as having had beautiful cakes from her previously I knew that Michelle would excel in not being confined to specifics. Upon collection of the cake I could not believe that the item we were collecting was actually cake - It really did look like a baby triceratops curled up fast asleep (to be honest I was expecting a square cake with some miniature dinosaurs on top) this cake blew our mind and when we brought it out for our son it he did not know what to do with himself. My Mum has since used Michelle to replicate my aunt and uncles wedding cake from 50 years ago - which was amazing, we supplied her with black and white photos and detailed descriptions of the colouring.”
