With regards to the latest news about the use of food colourings. Food colourings are obviously used within cake decorating industry. Wherever possible I will try and avoid using food colours containing:

E110 Sunset Yellow

E104 Quinoline Yellow

E122 Carmoisine

E129 Allura Red

E102 Tartrazine

E124 Ponceau 4R

Sometimes the use of food colourings containing the above is unavoidable however be aware that the amount of food colouring used is small and once your cake has been cut into portions the amount of icing containing food colouring consumed is minimal.
