2015 Wedding Cake Trends
Getting married in 2015 and looking for wedding cake inspiration? Your wedding cake design can be just as important as selecting the right venue; it can really take your special day up a notch.
Here’s a little sneak peek into our diary to see what is popular this year!
From cerise through to blush, pink is still a very popular colour palette amongst our brides. Add splashes of colour on your cake through details such as sugar flowers and decorations or be bold and opt for coloured icing instead of traditional white or ivory.
Heart shaped cakes!
Round cakes still remain the most popular cake shape amongst our brides but, like a 90’s boyband, the heart shaped cake is making a comeback!
For years metallics were the accent colour, thrown in to add a bit of shimmer.
But now these previously overlooked shades are taking the limelight and are becoming colour schemes in their own right.
If an entire metallic cake is to much then consider adding touch a touch of sparkle.
Lace still features heavily in the 2015 bridal collections and it’s a beautiful detail to transfer onto your wedding cake. Use real lace for a soft look or ask your cake maker to pipe lace detailing onto your cake replicating the lace work on your dress.
Flowers will always be a popular cake decoration for wedding cakes be they fresh, silk or sugar. 2015 is seeing a lot of hydrangeas, roses and orchids on our cake designs. If you love the idea of fresh flowers on your cake but are budget conscious why not consider using your bouquet to decorate your cake. We have designed a specially adapted bouquet cake especially for this, allowing your bouquet to be inserted into the top of the cake once you have finished with the photos.
Whatever the style of your big day, book at appointment with us and we will create something bang on trend for you!
Great designs don’t happen by chance – they happen by appointment!
