Every so often we get to take part in styled photoshoots with other fabulous wedding suppliers. As well as being great for networking it’s also a fab opportunity for suppliers to go a bit crazy, play outside the box and get creative so when I was contacted for a cake for this 1920’s wedding themed shoot I jumped at the chance to get my flapper on!!
The shoot was organised by the gorgeous Zulika at Golden Poppy Events and had a roaring 20’s theme ( secretly we had all hoped she had booked Leonardo DiCaprio to reprise his Mr Gatsby role and play the groom).
The shoot was arranged around two stunning handmade dresses designed and created by the very talented Lisa Bilotti of Lisa Bilotti Bridal Couture. Make Up was provided by the lovely Ali K MUA and hair by Sarah’s Doo-Wops Dos. The day was captured and documented by two of my favourite photographers Becky Kerr and Esme Robinson on location at Lisa’s beautiful studio and the Bedford Swan hotel.
We created a stunning 6 tier white wedding cake with beautiful crisp edges to represent the Art Deco feel of the period. The cake was adorned with hand pipe work, sugar feathers, piped pearls and a little bit of sparkle. We think we captured the feel of the 1920’s perfectly!
